Installation Process:

The process typically takes three to five days (depending on system size) for residential properties and involves several technical stages:
 

Planning and Zoning: Our field bidder will evaluate your yard's size, slope, and soil type and configure watering zones. Different zones are created for lawns (using spray and/or rotary heads) and garden beds (often using drip irrigation to minimize evaporation).

Trenching: Narrow trenches (typically 6 to 12 inches deep) are dug for underground piping. We recommend installing these systems before laying new sod to avoid damaging fragile root systems, however, if you have a mature yard, we will do our very best to make it look like nothing ever happened!

Water Connection and Backflow Prevention: The system is tapped into your main water line. A backflow preventer is installed to ensure sprinkler water does not contaminate your home’s drinking water. Most cities require permits for backflow devices.

Component Assembly: Pipes for main and lateral lines, a master valve, zone valves, and sprinkler heads are installed according to the zone configuration plan.

System Flushing and Testing: Before burying the pipes, valves, and sprinkler heads, the system is flushed to clear debris and then tested for even coverage and proper pressure.

Controller Setup: We will install a WIFI/smart controller to automate watering schedules. Smart Controllers installed by TLC can be managed and programmed by all of our technicians. We can go through the app with you or just set it up based on system configuration and time of year.
