A streamlined two-application program focuses on the most critical "infection windows" during our midwestern wet, humid springs. This is designed primarily to protect high-risk local species like Crabapples, Hawthorns, Spruces, and Pines from the region's heavy pressure of Cedar-Apple Rust, Tip Blight, Needle Blight, and Needle Cast.
· Application 1: Initial Bud Break (Late March to Mid-April) We will apply as soon as the first green tissue or bud tips emerge from the tree. This usually aligns with the blooming of Forsythia or Pears. This application will provide a protective shield during the initial spring rains when fungal spores are most active.
· Application 2: Full Leaf-Out (Early to Mid-May) Applied 14–21 days after the first treatment, once the leaves have fully expanded, this second dose is vital because it protects the new growth that wasn't present during the first application. For KC homeowners, this is the primary defense against Powdery Mildew on Lilacs and Anthracnose on Sycamores before the stagnant humidity of June sets in.
Critical Timing Note: In the KC area, once you see the orange "galls" on Junipers or spots on your Crabapple leaves, the infection has already occurred. This two-step program is strictly preventative and must be completed before the heat of June arrives
